Millennials Could Be The Saving Grace of the Housing Industry

When it comes to recent news about Millennials and housing, most of it has been about how recent grads have been living at home with their parents due to the weak economy, the student loans people are facing, and lending standards that make it impossible to get the money needed for a down-payment on a house or apartment. However as the economy strengthens and these obstacles begin to fall, people are thinking that Millennials might be the saving grace for the housing industry. Millennials are now looking to move out of their parents houses and into apartments and houses of their own and due to their massive numbers, there will soon be buyers looking to buy.

While this definitely sounds good, people should remember that it might not necessarily happen. Millennials are still facing increasing amounts of student debt as well as lending standards that haven’t changed. Instead what is more likely is that the supposed flood will actually turn out to be a trickle. Recent grads will be looking to buy houses and apartment but only when they can actually afford them. They have learned from the mistakes of previous generations and have realized that being on sound financial footing is important when making large decisions like this.

How to Coach Like a Professional

Coaching people to do something that is life changing is never easy. When drastic changes need to be made, most people buckle down and refuse to budge. They hold on to what is comfortable and they neither want to try new things or exert themselves to an uncomfortable level. This is especially true of people who are trying to lose weight and create a happier and healthier lifestyle. It is so much easier to just sit down and wallow in misery than it is to get up off the couch and be proactive, even if the benefits are so worth the effort. It is up to a coach and trainer to help inspire people to reach these greater heights of health and happiness and, while it can seem like a thankless task, there are ways to make the job much easier.

The biggest part of coaching someone towards achieving their goals is to help them break free of all of the negative illusions that exercise and motivation have. People are always looking for the quick and easy solution and they need to realize that something that is worth doing is something that takes time and effort. We are our own worst enemies when it comes to self-improvement and a good coach and support group can help us realize that it’s ok to struggle and that taking time to work on ourselves isn’t selfish, it’s necessary. By helping clients strip away these negative illusions and helping them realize their potential, coaches and trainers can vastly improve both their mental and physical well-being.

Private Island Sells for a $38M Discount

Everyone has probably had a dream about buying a private island and retreating from our high-paced and industrialized world and replacing it with a world full of sun, beaches, and crystal blue waters. When people think of this dream it is almost immediately followed by a thought along the lines of “well that will never happen to me, I can’t afford an island like that.” To those who are naysayers, I bring good news! If you have around $20,000,000 lying around then there is a very high chance that you will be able to afford your own private island in the Bahamas.

Today brings news of the sale of Innocence Island, the largest island in the Bahamas. It has all of the stereotypical island desires: mango trees, beaches, and a huge home with a pool. With an initial listing of $55,000,000 and a goal of at least $20,000,000 in mind, surprise was rampant when it sold for only $17,000,000. With an initial bid of $8M and an auction that only lasted minutes, the price of $17M for this island was seen as a steal for the buyer. The island was originally thought to be worth $30M and so being able to by it at $17M was definitely a good move.

How did an island with such a high value and an even higher asking price sell for so low? There are a number of factors that played into the sale, including the auction process itself. Unlike houses, islands are obviously much more difficult to sell. The auction process adds to this difficulty due to the fact that most of the people bidding aren’t willing to make the trek to actually go see and experience the island themselves, so the price they’re willing to pay is drastically lower. If anyone is interested in buying an island for a lower price, the best advice they could listen to would be to start exploring the world of island auctions. You might be able to steal an island of your own for much lower than it’s worth.
